A close encounter with “Fire Art”

Imagine being a person whom has always had a fascination with control line model planes and by chance, encounter someone who has a whole garage full of them.  Not only does this individual have the motor controlled balsa wood planes, he has something that is totally different and intriguing – something that looks streamlined, shaped like a teardrop and unlike anything that you’ve ever seen. This model resembled the German V1 pulse jet that caused so much damage in London, England during the “Blitz” in WWII, so outstanding that you feel that you have to see this fascinating object in action.

With some pleading, the owner and young pilot of the red-nosed rocket agreed to an exhibition flight. Great anticipation filled the air.

Informed that three people were needed to operate this jet-like aircraft, without hesitation, a friend was enticed to participate. Loading the equipment, including a battery, bicycle pump and other various items, they proceeded to a field behind the high school. A small wooden box was carefully removed from the trunk of the car. This contained the jet pulse engine. In the center of the field a staging area was prepared. Excitement and anticipation was palpable. What would be the outcome of this Dyna Jet Redhead pulse-jet exhibition? This was so extreme that it involved a close escape from the police.

The entire exciting story, told by Cork Marecheshi in his inimitable style, can be read in vivid detail when you visit www.FineArtRegistry.com.
