Another Park West at Sea Art Auction Rip-off
Is This EVER Going to Stop?
Well here we go again, another tale of yet another blatant scam, only this time on a cruise ship which is named after Walt Disney. For many years this name has been connected with childhood innocence and respected family values. Unfortunately not any more. A story submitted by Fine Art Registry™ lifetime member, Robert Gutshall, Another Park West at Sea Art “Auction” Rip-off - Is This EVER Going to Stop? details the events of his own expensive and unpleasant experience.
Robert B. Gutshall, Lt. Col. USAF, Ret., to celebrate his 80 year old mother’s birthday, chose to take her on seven day Disney Magic Cruise. It seemed like a perfect way to spend a memorable, relaxing time together and at the same time honor her special day. Admittedly, not knowing a great deal about art or even remotely intending to purchase art, either aboard ship or anywhere else, he and his mother made the mistake of attending the shipboard, so called, auction held by Park West at Sea.
What ensued is an account that is detailed, concise and eerily the same as what other unsuspecting targets have reported. There was one marked difference in his account. The “Art Director” was a woman, using high-pressure tactics and her feminine wiles in a very overt manner. With this one diversion, the article serves to reinforce what other victims have experienced and exposes the pattern used by the shysters.
It is a very sad situation that the Wonderful World of Disney has degenerated into contributing to the fleecing of the unsuspecting and the innocent. In partnering with Park West at Sea Art Auctions they have sullied their reputation and turned their fortunes over to the dark side.
