Death of a Master’s Soul
Death of a Master’s Soul written by Shaunda Clifton, exposes a terrible crime that is being committed daily. This is singularly a shocking statement but on closer inspection you are bound to agree that what is happening to the masters’ works of art is a tragedy. Cezanne, Rembrandt, Michelangelo and Van Gogh are only a few of the victims of this genocide.
You have every right to ask; in what way are they killing the Masters’ works of art? This article details the ways in which the masterpieces are handled or in most cases, mishandled. Money seems to be the paramount reason that things have begun to deteriorate. For example using a Rembrandt treasure to raise funds for a certain pet project or at various entertainment venues. These events normally attract those who are more liable to be social climbers than art lovers and are interested in mingling with the upper class that attend the affair. The booze flows, drinks spilled and the artwork is left to the mercy of those who, putting it kindly, are less than appreciative of Rembrandt. Thus the soul of this wonderful master genius is slowly being destroyed, as is the works of other masters of history. While flash bulbs explode and lights that are too bright gradually destroy the very soul of the artist that art lovers over the years have come to know.
The author cites one instance in which a masterpiece was left outside on an easel in searing sunlight. One can only imagine what damage this caused.
The loving care of this legacy is slowly being eroded and future generations will eventually find nothing left but a shadow of what once was. Those who are truly art lovers will hear the dying pleas of the creators of this priceless art.
