In the late 1940’s an unlikely alliance was formed when surrealist artist Salvador Dalí and noted family orientated film maker Walt Disney began working together on an animated film production, Destino, (Spanish for “destiny”). The two artistic giants evidently met and Dali was employed at The Disney Company in the mid 1940s, working with John Hench, an exceptional Disney artist. There is an air of deep mystery that surrounds the film and has resulted in stolen artwork, missing originals, outright fakes and total misrepresentations.
