Insurance Claim Investigation Reveals Stolen Dali Prints Sold By Park West Gallery are FORGED and DEFACED

The following story is a warning to all prospective buyers and holders of Park West Gallery Dali inventory–and especially those Park West Gallery Dali prints that are purportedly signed by Dali and that source from the Albaretto family and other shady European sources from which Park West Gallery acquired its inventory. Recently, a theft of so-called signed Dali prints was reported.

After the insurance company conducted an investigation, it turned out that the Dali prints were found to be “forged” and “defaced.”

The owner of these worthless, defaced forgeries is now left holding the bag like so many other Park West Gallery victims. Many of these victims have insured these bogus pieces and are paying substantial premiums on worthless artwork.

An Elaborate Art Investment Scheme

Framed, book by Ex-Con Todd Volpe

As most in the art world now know, Peter Paul Biro is suing the New Yorker magazine and its writer, David Grann, and others for defamation. This third article in our continuing series will focus on Peter Paul Biro, the “art restorer.” No matter what Biro claims his profession is these days, art restoration is his bailiwick. There is simply no credible evidence that we have been able to locate that confirms Biro is a specially trained and recognized “scientist,” as he claims in Paragraph 6 of his lawsuit, much less a qualified or recognized latent fingerprint examiner, except perhaps in his own mind.

It is important to consider the world of possibilities and remarkable expertise that an art restorer possesses when working with fine art and valuables. Art conservationists serve a very important function in the art market. Without art restorers, the art market would suffer greatly. While there are many reputable and well-respected art restorers worldwide, there are always exceptions. In the arena of art crime and art fraud, an art restorer can be and is often used as an essential key in a scheme to defraud.

When Smear Campaigns Lie, they Backfire on the Smearer

LIAR, LIAR PANTS ON FIRE!

Remember the days when playing hopscotch or marbles, perhaps even skipping rope or playing softball? Think about those times when you found out one of your playmates told a big fat lie about; say one of your best friends. Discovering that this playmate deliberately told an untruth to hurt your friend, I recall clearly the chant that rang out by all the gang, liar, liar pants on fire. Children, by all counts, have a truthful way of dealing with situations with no preconceived biases. As the saying goes, they tells it like they sees it. Well now as adults, we find in this convoluted world, a blatant attempt to smear, lie and to try to destroy a friend that has been an advocate for victims of fraudulent activity by the perpetrator of the activity and we in concert cry foul.

This blistering article written by David Phillips of Fine Art Registry® entitled When Smear Campaigns Lie, they Backfire on the Smearer, reveals a totally disturbing story of how Park West Gallery attempted to shut up investigations into their less than forthright dealings. But in this case we can all rejoice in the fact that the liars, that went to enormous lengths to hide their deeds, have been flushed out into the light of day for the entire world to see.

Park West Gallery is linked to a slimy PR firm that hijacked the Fine Art Registry domain name by creating aboutfineartregistry.com, in an attempt to divert traffic to this pseudo site and then do all in its power to defame and smear the trusted trademark of FAR®. Adding insult to injury, they then touted the sterling virtues of Park West Gallery and their associates with links to their respective sites.

FAR was not about to take this lying down and through some very savvy friends, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the FAR Patent and Trademark Attorney, the investigation began in earnest.
