More Good News! Park West Gallery Ceases Land Auction Operations!

Well it’s not really news to Fine Art Registry. We’ve known about this for quite some time. We’ve just been waiting for the perfect time to announce it and there’s no time like the present, especially on the heels of Park West Gallery’s scalding loss against Fine Art Registry in the Florida Federal District Court. But that’s another story altogether and we'll save that for another day.

That’s right! The self-proclaimed “largest art gallery” in the universe has just gotten a whole lot smaller. Hallelujah!!

In an attempt to try to escape (or weasel out of) the Washington State Class Action lawsuit filed against Park West by victims of art purchases, FAR has confirmed (through Scaglione’s recently filed sworn declaration dated February 5, 2009 in support of Park West's Motion to Dismiss the Washington State class action) that Park West Gallery has ceased all of its land-based operations (so Albert Scaglione swears) in the Spring of 2008. Thanks, Al. We’ve been waiting for confirmation so we could report the sensational news straight from the horse’s mouth—well maybe not so “straight” after all. You weren’t completely truthful with the Washington State Federal District Court or opposing counsel even in that declaration (also known as a sworn affidavit), were you, at least as to the date you actually ceased land-based operations?

While we have found that Park West Gallery often lies like a rug to various courts when it suits their purposes (their lawyers knowing full well that Judges in other jurisdictions do not actively review or check the court record in other cases for inconsistencies where Park West may be a party—thereby manipulating the court system), we have in our possession a letter from Park West land-based auctioneer, Chris Lindsay, dated December 8, 2008, addressed to a Fine Art Registry member inviting him to a land based auction at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa on December 20 and 21, 2008. Complimentary Dinner and Cocktails—the whole nine yards. Now that’s just a couple of months ago, Al. We are certain that the lawyers for the victims in the Washington State class action would be very interested in knowing these facts.

And just in case Park West Gallery’s PR propaganda machines (Caponigro and Fleishman-Hillard) try to spin this one with manufactured lies—we’ve got the facts and evidence and we will gladly publish it all.

Now here’s a question to ponder. Why would Park West Gallery scrub its land auctions when its stream of revenue for land operations was reported at an estimated $100 to $150 million a year? We guess that the maritime argument (the ‘catch-me-if-you-can' spin) just doesn’t work with land based auctions now does it?

Why would Albert Scaglione lie in his Declaration to the Washington State Federal District Court about the date he ceased land-based auction operations when we have hard evidence that the Park West Gallery land based auctions were still being conducted as late as the end of December of 2008? In fact, Fine Art Registry is witness to at least one other land based auction conducted by Chris Lindsay in the late Summer of 2008. So tell us, Al? What's the story here? Just how many courts have you lied to?

As always, with Park West Gallery, nothing is ever as it seems.
