New Article Series on Marketing and Selling Art
As part of our continuing commitment to helping our members expand their careers, we are proud to release a new article series on how to market and sell your art! Not one but two Fine Art Registry™ related articles appeared in the April 2007
issue of Art&Antiques, as well as a reference to FAR as a resource in protecting your art from theft. The first, "Thumbs Down in Pollock Fingerprint Analysis", concerns fingerprint examiner Thomas Hanley's findings from his investigation in art restorer Peter Paul Biro's forensic "authentication" of the painting bought by Teri Horton in Southern California, which has since attained notoriety as a possible Pollock. The second article in Art&Antiques "Antiques Worth $1 Million Stolen in West Palm Beach", is a report on the $1 million furniture and antiques theft from antique dealers Andrew and Kelly Vogel, which was also reported on in depth on the FAR website here. (The Vogels called FAR very recently and reported that their stolen goods had been recovered, some of it intact, some of it damaged or destroyed. More on this soon. Ed.) Read the articles online (links above) or pick up a copy of the April Art&Antiques.
Artist of the Month, Catherine PumaWhen asked what she intends with her art, Chicago-based artist Catherine Puma replies, "I love recreating beautiful landscapes of places I've traveled to before because I'm able to relive those memories and travel back to those places." See Catherine's evocative paintings here.
